Author & Historian

Dr Paul Stickler is a retired UK police officer and an expert in British historical murder investigations. A graduate of the prestigious FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Paul holds degrees in history, social sciences and criminology, as well as a PhD in law and history from the University of Essex. His 2024 doctoral thesis examined the legal basis of murder investigations during the inter-war years (1919–1939), offering a forensic look at the evolution of British law enforcement. As a professional speaker, Paul brings a detective's eye and a historian's depth to his presentations, which are grounded in archival research and primary sources. He is also a consultant for television and film media and a regular lecturer on the cruise ship circuit.

He is a member of the Crime Writers’ Association and a published author of two acclaimed books that re-examine key cases from British criminal history.
